Remastering notes (from MOB):
The rough recording was already very good, but needed some restoration and cleaning before being spread worldwide. Indeed, due to the age of the mastertape, a lot of crackles, tape warble and level fluctuations were present on the rough digital transfer.
These have been manually cleaned as much as possible. Also, the rough version had a lot of clipping that needed to be corrected. Some frequencies with musical content were buried in the original transfer, therefore a slight EQ was applied in order to bring clarity to the recording. There were some abrupt cuts on the mastertape (two cuts during Breathe, one cut at the beginning of Us And Them and one cut in the middle of OOTD, not to mention numerous "pause" operations by the taper during some tunings and applause between songs).
These have been restored by editing, so that the recording is now presented in a continuous way, with smooth transitions.

Notes by PE:
Almost like David Vincent, it all started with a torrent which had attracted my attention : Gong 1973-06-19, a gig at Roger Salengro's salle - Lille, France, chez les ch'tis.
Contact was made with the seeder (Sous-Marin) who turned out to be the taper of this show.
Sewing up, and after a few blow-jobs I learned that he had recorded the Campus radio show AM original broadcast (1970) : Pink Floyd 1970-01-23 at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées.
I therefore encouraged him to torrent this recording.
Then, on his website, I saw a date which intrigued me : Pink Floyd 1972-07-12,Lille.
.... Lille? le pays des ch'tis uf course ! but as far as I knew no recording of this particular gig were reported !...
With this new contact we discussed via emails until I learned that the taper (named ZEF) actually taped this gig and that SousMarin owns a mp3/128Kbits recording of this show.
Then began the quest for the "lossless" source of this recording...
Days passing, a lot of blow-jobs again and weeks later, an email just arrived, ZEF replied to Sous-Marin :
I had a small tape recorder, the later Telefunken (R.I.P blessed tape recorder) connected to an external microphone.
I digitalized the tape with Audacity (version 1.2.6) using default settings.
Audacity detected my recording as being in mono. I did not correct the file or apply any filters. This was a "rough" transfer direct from tape to HD.
Bingo! we finally got it

01) Out On The Western Plain
02) Handy Man (All Around Man)
03) Improvisation sur le film
04) Nothing But The Devil
05) Banker's Blues

01. Le Mans, juin 1978: Interview de Rory au Mans
02. Lille 78: Commentaire de JN Coghe
03. Lille 78: Do You Read Me
04. Lille 78: Commentaire de JN Coghe
05. Lille 78: Secret Agent
06. Lille 78: Commentaire de JN Coghe
07. Lille 78: Moonchild
08. Lille 78: Commentaire de JN Coghe
09. Lille 78: Too Much Alcohol
10. Lille 78: Commentaire de JN Coghe
11. Lille 78: Going To My Home Town
12. Lille 78: Commentaire de JN Coghe
13. Lille 78: Bullfrog Blues
14. Lille 78: Commentaire de JN Coghe
15. Lille 78: Bought & Sold (orthographié par erreur "Sought")

Note : The another 90 min FM version includes the first track "the holy hour" and the 2 last songs "Killing an arab" & "Three" but doesn't include "All cast are grey".
On this version, no cut between "The Funeral Party" & "M", and no cut between "Other Voices" & "All Cats Are Grey" but
around 3min of audience between "Faith" & "Grinding Hhalt" hasn't been recorded on this version.
It's a different fm recording (or a different broadcast) cos' here we can hear someone speaking at the end of "The Funeral Party" which it isn't the case on the other FM version.

This is a very good sounding CD, that unfortunately is edited down from the complete show. Looking at other set lists from this tour it seems that the encores, with most of the older songs, were chopped. The show is still worth getting for the good sound - especially a great bass recording, even though being just a bit overmodulated. As to the performance, it is pretty good but not as great as they are capable of. This is the best source for a live "Corner Soul". I haven't yet heard of the whole thing trading on tape, but it must be.

The day after seeing Klaus Schulze play at Derby Assembly Rooms in April 1996,
I saw someone in the hotel where I was staying,
playing some music from the concert the night on a DAT machine.
It turned out he was the person who updates the official Klaus Schulze website.
I arranged to get a copy of the concert he had recorded,
and he also did me a copy of this concert for me.
This is an example of one of the European shows
that relates to the official release of "Das Wagner Desaster".

Well what can I say, Le Splendid indeed.
This was due to be the final date of their jaunt around Europe, an extra date was added for tonight, 21st in Belgium. Having seen the first 3 shows in Scotland, 3 shows around the London area and now 3 here in Europe, I have seen the set grow and adapt and almost take on a life force of its own. Over the 9 shows in total I have witnessed some 39 different tracks from throughout their 40 year career.
I have been a fan for 35 of those 40 years and yes maybe my memory of my early gigs from 1981 onwards are a little blurred but the power of these Ruby dates has been something special.
These recordings may not fully convey the atmosphere and chemistry between band and crowd but I hope they serve a happy reminder to those that were lucky enough to attend, make up for those that werent able to attend and hopefully convince many people to go and see them when they next visit a town near you soon.
Please search out the official website, check out the lively forum for news of upcoming dates.
You will be welcomed by the Familyinblack with open arms.
Please share freely and sensible

A Night On The Boat (TakersRecords 001)
Date : 11 May 2015
Venue : La Péniche, Lille, France
Lineage: Zoom H3 Record -> Audacity -> CD Wav -> Flac (Compression Level 5)
Today, i post my first bootleg recording. I Bought a Zoom H2 few days ago, and i decided to discover this band, an Australian Punk Legend Band, who came 3 km from my house.
I've no ideas about the set list. I just took a picture of the Setlist after the show, who is in the folder.
The recording is good, i use some effects to have a better sound. Unfortanably this concert was on a boat and the sound was not good.
Enjoy this bootleg, as you know, The Saints's bootleg are very rare.
