Anecdote croustillante (sic)

Lineage:
AM mono recording on BASF C120 > VHS HI-FI STEREO > Cool Edit Pro > Remastering > FLAC

----------

It was around 1999, I was in high school, where my history teacher, Joel, saw I was proudly sporting a Ange t-shirt. It made him reminisce about his foggy years as a student, an era of music and sexual freedom. He then told me that during the 70’s he’d once recorded, in his parents’ kitchen, a concert broadcasted on the radio. The tape probably was still at his parents’ home but where??? And when could he bring it back to me???
After many of my antsy reclamations, he came in one morning, a few months later, and handed me the Holy Grail. This tape, a BASF C120 minutes of poor quality and in no reassuring state contained the piece « Dame Nation » I had often heard about but never heard. This song is still unknown by most of Ange fans today.
I re-glued parts of the tape together and could begin to discover the recording. I wasn’t expecting a miraculous sound but all the instruments were clear and the pieces largely audible.
I started to imagine a transfer. I chose to record using a VCR in HI-FI STEREO which would give me results of a numeric quality and alsosuited my poor means. As I can remember, I made only one copy and, two years ago, while trading with other collectors of angelic documents, I was surprised to realize that some copies of my Grail were circulating, incomplete and in even worse quality than the first one from back then and without my having been informed !
I have therefore decided to find my old tape, to numerize it, to try and equalize it to make it sound the best possible without denaturing the recording.
For the cover, I sorted through my old paper collection about the band to find pictures from this era that haven’t been seen so much and the article by Guy Stoeffler.
It only sufficed to act, not counting time, to turn back time and offer it to the fans.

Enjoy! Don’t convert in MP3. Go see Ange in concert, buy their records, visit their website : http://www.ange-updlm.com/
Please always attach the infofile to the recording.

"Dear "Dime Members",
when i first started the UHDP(URIAH HEEP DIME PROJECT)a little over a month ago or so,
it was inspired mostly by 3 people. Federico(Blacklarbot), Konstantinos(Maratos) & Iain(Matoman).
Maratos & Matoman are like myself, both big UH fans and collectors, but it was the success of Blacklarbot's SABBATH DIME PROJECT(SDP) that made me realize that if did the same thing with Uriah Heep, and shared as many of the good recordings in my collection that i could, then maybe like with all the Sabbath collectors, someone would come forward with a rare and wonderful "uncirculated" UH recording.
And amazingly enough someone did!"

REMEMBER READING THOSE WORDS A FEW WEEKS BACK??

Well that same group of great people who shared 2 of the rarest Uriah Heep recordings with us have decided to share more of their recordings here on Dime.
So inspired by these words every week by "Team Lampinski"-Always remember - "the more generous you are with your music, the more it comes back to you".
With that in mind we now present the WILLIAM TELL EDITIONS(WTE).
"William Tell" is the name of the person who is providing the recordings and transfers of his various friends in the "European Taping Community".
Several tapers including "William Tell" himself have recorded a wide range of various artists from the 70's, 80's and beyond.
It is these recordings we would like to dedicate to Dan Lampinski and his "Team" for all they shared with us.

And with that in mind i implore those that still have such "treasures" tucked away,
to please consider sharing them the way these generous people have.
None of us are getting any younger and what good will any of your recordings be when your dead.

So Boys & Girls, Brothers & Sisters, Ladies & Gentleman
For your entertainment & "earjoyment"
I present to you;

LDB Special Series #116

Out of my 7,000+ shows and radio broadcasts, I have many concerts that were special for some reasons: the setlist, the musicians, the venue or unexpected events. These are the ones I'd like to propose you. Most of these come from my cassettes collection, so they will be released at a slower pace than my Master Series! But you won't be disappointed!
I will try to gather the most unusual things I have in my collection and, as always, your feedback and comments will be my reward for all the work involved in this project.

DO NOT share this music on mp3, just convert it for your own use. Sharing mp3's is the right way to make me stop sharing music here.

This comes from AM source of RTL and it is very hissy, although the sound is clear. I have tried to reduce the hiss a bit but still there is quite a lot. The last track is nearly unlistenable, unfortunately but the rest I am sure you will like it.
But this is a piece of history of french progressive rock, with the band Ange at its absolute peak.

A year later they would record their first live album, called Tome VI. This is pretty much uncirculated material and clearly not complete broadcast since the last track is not complete. But I love it, it has some vintage feeling on it. Enjoy!

source for these files was Erathostene's seed as Torrent #271644 (now removed).
trackmarking was not perfect (track "Le chien, la poubelle et la rose" was divided in two pieces) and those files featured 2 seconds gaps between the tracks. Those issues have been fixed, and also volume was raised (all editing with Audacity 1.3.5 Beta). Some people migh considered this an upgrade. These corrections were applied for my own personal use, so I might as well share them...
Apparently, there is also around another version of this same show with three more tracks (03-Les Temps Modernes 04-Les Lorgnons 05-Saga). Also included in this folder a scan of the ticket. Original Erathostene's infofile follows below, but please note that tracklist had obviously to be corrected

my personal notes in italian, which some of you might find amusing:

This concert was recorded in Paris, Grand Studio RTL radio, 16 september 1995.
Great show, in their early style, when they were at their best (IMO), back in 1972-1976.
