Big thanks to the original taper, and to the trader (sam) who hooked me up with a copy.
This one came to me track separated for disc one, and a single long track on disc two for the last 17 mins.
I opted to leave this low-gen item exactly as is.
All I did was add in titles for the tracks, and FLAC 'em up for your enjoyment.
NOTES
Aah the shows at 688; I kept putting off even looking at this set of discs.
I knew long ago I had made a NR version of a show, and because of that, my eyes always went right past them on the shelf.
* Number one - d'oh, I forgot that there were 2 gigs
* Number two - I forgot that I'd gotten another raw version of that one I'd NR'ed, not written in my list, double d'oh
Okok, so i am way overdue in giving thse a spin now.
These shows may well have been up here before, tho I'm not sure if from the same low-gen source here.

So this is the first show, the one I'd overlooked.
Wow, this is a nice sounding tape, much better than the next night.
One might say excellent even.
Sounds like they had some issues at the start of act 2.
Snakey sang "but dont forget the monitors of a friend are hard to fake".
There's some crackes and channel short outs during Diskomo (maybe a cable problem).
But that's it, a superb listen for the rest of the show.
- - - -
Crank it up and ENJOY! it as I have, and share it so others can hear it.
- - - -
Filenames have numbers on the end that are the TIMES (ex. - "...-359" is 3min59sec long).
I mark the start of tracks when the music or count-in begins, not the talking about it before it starts.

This is a Halloween special that Hamp_Dk and I are bringing to the Dime masses or the few(and especially to the fewer who show appreciation) who will get this since it isnt like one of those Rush, Ironmaiden or the fabulous Stryper reunion gigs(thank god!).
Thanks to jschmoe for ALL of his great recordings he has shared.
Happy Halloween people.
I know the file size is really really small, especially for a 2 cdr set. I checked a 2 tracks for mpeg and it said 100% CDDA. I guess it is mono, that wil make it smaller, but this seems really small even for a mono recording,so not sure what the deal is. It is a bit hissy too. I believe I got this from the taper, but not positive since it has been awhile since I got this show.

Big thanks to the original taper, and to the trader (unsure who) who hooked me up with a copy.
The original was partially broken down into tracks, and I maintained them.
The fades & edits were there on the source.
I just added titles, & FLAC'ed 'em up for your enjoyment.
NOTES
A very nice sounding show.
Little bit of talking near the taper, and a couple'a mic bumps.
Otherwise amazing capture of a fine night.

Stereo SBD trade tape
Trade tape > Computer WAV > Cool Edit 2000 (track separation) > CD-Rs > EAC v0.99 > TLH v2.4.1 > FLAC 8 > DIME > you
Big thanks to the original taper, and to the trader (gregg) who hooked me up with a copy.
I mastered this sometime prior to the end of 2001, but no longer have the original WAVs.
The input to this source came from the 2001 final mastered CDR set, extracted via EAC / reports included.
I think the only thing I originally did on the computer was place track marks before each piece.
This FLAC fileset comes from the EAC extracts, which did not need SBE corrections.
NOTES
So it's a SBD, yes, but it's a bit dry to me / notta lotta highs & sounds a bit compressed.
(Not NR'ed or MP3'ed; you can see the files are proper - there's a Chicago show from this tour like this too, even more compressed-sounding.)
Still, it's a fine enough listen to a nice show from long long ago.
The very end spoken part of Monkey And Bunny (after "once I had some pets") is missing, but it's that way on the source.
It goes right from those words, into Snakey guitar startup of Theme From.

Crank it up and ENJOY! it as I have, and share it so others can hear it.

Big thanks to the original taper, and to the trader (sam) who hooked me up with a copy.
I mastered this 2011-04-23.
The base source was 2 big long tracks on two CDRs, one track on each.
Other than trimming bits of blank space & the DIME edit below, I did nothing sonically to the source but cut it into tracks.
Minor DIME edit:
Some 3+mins of intro music of unknown source was removed.
NOTES
Wow, this show sounds exquisitely sweet!
I'm partial to the tape I made (see elsewhere out here on DIME), but this is certainly in that league.
Highs and lows, crisp & clear; you couldn't ask for more.
- - - -
There's a fade-out (on the source) after Tourniquet / fade-in for Rhythm, for a tape flip I guess.
Doesn't seem to be missing anything from Rhythm; musta been super-fast.
A little bit of the beginning's missing from Walter.
There's a crowd edit before the encore, like that on the source.

Crank it up and ENJOY! it as I have, and share it so others can hear it.

This up is a "DIME edit" from what I'd normally shared of this show with folks (tho you are not missing anything of real concern).
The full source included 30sec of the intermission music aired between Act One and Act Two - not ok for DIME.
Easy enough, removed that one baby track off the start of disc two & renumbered the rest.
The EAC reports' numbering for disc two is gonna be off vs. what you see here, because of that removal.
NOTES
This is a very, very excellent sounding tape, & a fine performance.
There's one couple-min. spot in Man's World where the sound's muffled, & a couple of mic bumps, & that's it, mighty fine.
For those that don't care for it, the applause track could be whacked right out.
I kept it 'cuz that's how I originally mastered it.
From comments under other shows, it looks like this has been out here before, but not during my time.
If you don't already have it, it's sure worth a download.
Also out here on DIME, you can find a 5-song excerpt from this performance on DVD.

A good friend of mine came up with a one generation better source for this show. This one is recorded on hi-fi tape decks and the recording levels are higher than my previous posted versjon (3rd gen)
Enjoy this small upgrade to an already great sounding show. Buy the Residents new album.
