I originally mastered this 2009-11-28. This one was promised long ago back in the Henry Cow flood days, now I can fulfill it. This FLAC fileset comes from WAVs from this dub, which only needed SBE corrections in TLH; no CD-Rs or EACs. The pieces on the second disc here were low in the right channel & I bumped it up 2db to try to balance it out. That same side also had some occasional light tick sounds, and I removed them where I could (about 2 dozen); I may have missed a couple. Besides that, all I did was place track marks before each piece. NOTES It's not the best sounding show, but it IS a very, very fine performance. There's hiss, and some cuts here & there, but overall it's very listenable. (If anyone can improve it, feel free to give it a shot.) I did pretty good, but I'm missing some of the titles. PLEASE make additions / corrections as necessary & post them to this torrent so all can see 'em, thanks! - - - - For the longest time, I'd thought something was wrong about the tape that is the source for this performance. As I got it, the tape had a loud crowd on side ONE, and a mellow one on side two; I wondered if it's really all one show? Finally, when doing a final master & seeing the times of the sides, I got it - someone REVERSED the sides along the way. (Meaning, my side one was really the end of the show, and side two the start.) But there were no audible clues such as the same recognizable piece repeated a little bit for the tape flip edit. (This batch of HC source tapes from this trader typically didn't have overlap to help in editing the sides together.) Anyway, so as presented here, things are back in what I think is the proper sequence. - - - - A lot of shorter pieces in the beginning of the set, and some longer ones towards the end. The main body of the show is intact save for a tape flip cut. From the completion of Jackie-ing on, the crowd is absolutely boisterous, & that seems to spur the group on. There are some unlabeled edits near the end, pauses for what may be crowd cheers for encores. BUT it seems the group goes along with that & improvs to the time-beat of the crowd. Some of that starts out track 203 which eventually morphs into Teenbeat (there's a couple of edits or pauses during this part). Later, the audience breaks out into a loud chant (hoping for another encore?), and Chris Cutler is banging on things in time with them. The fade-out at the end is on the source. - - - - Anyway, it's a great gig, & after finally sorting it out, I'm happy to be able to share it with you. - - - - Crank it up and ENJOY! it as I have, and share it so others can hear it. - - - - Filenames have numbers on the end that are the TIMES (ex. - "...-359" is 3min59sec long). One filename has "CO" in the name, as a colon isn't allowed in names. - - - - The usual schmack applies here: Please don't post this anywhere but DIME.
